Maus and Barefoot Gen

After reading Maus again, I think it is easier to deal with narrative in the way of comics than literal text. All the indirect narratives were turned into direct narratives. The story was told by writer's father, it is unreliable when it showing in novel. However, when the story showing in comics it was turned into intense, evocative scenes that was better than testimonies. If he wants to survival, he should know multiple languages, make a lot of friends, has a healthy body. Every morning they won't say "Good morning", they ask:"Are you still alive?"

And I really like the name of this book, Maus. Panzer VIII Maus is the super-heavy tank that designed by the German company. The appearance of animals speaks of the most real human nature, mouse represents the Jew, cat represents German. Writer was trying to metaphor something, trying to show his attitude of the Second World War on purpose, with the most sensory stimulation to the most heavy topics. The author's father learns live, but loses the ability to live.
